Tomlinson Middle School 8th Annual Walkathon October 13, 2017
We are thrilled to report that the Annual TMS PTA Walkathon raised a RECORD BREAKING $35,000!! The TMS PTA will use these funds to continue to support student enrichment programs, spirit activities, technology in the classroom, field trips and clubs and to support our amazing faculty and their efforts to make a positive impact on the lives of each and every student at TMS.
We are so proud of how the entire TMS Community came together to accomplish this achievement. We want to thank everyone including corporate sponsors, family sponsors and students. Every dollar has been counted and is appreciated.
Thank you to Mr. Formato, all of the teachers, staff and administrators for all the support, time and effort they gave to make this year's Walkathon so successful, and for everything they do for our students every day. We also want to give an extra special shout out to our fierce leader Lynda Oshinskie for heading our fundraising efforts, as well as Jamie Kagan, Lisa Previti and Patty Donohue and to our many parent volunteers who were lending a helping hand at TMS yesterday. We were honored to have First Selectman Mike Tetreau present in a show of support and to have CT News 12 covering our event.
We witnessed a real sense of community and positive energy among our students, faculty, staff and parent volunteers as we celebrated our success on our beautiful new turf field today. TMS is a special place and we are so fortunate to be a part of this wonderful community.
Thank you again for all of your support and have a great weekend!
Lisa Broder and Suzanne Francis TMS PTA Co-Presidents 2017-2018
Tomlinson's primary fundraising and spirit event of the year! Students and faculty, wearing unifying Walkathon t-shirts, walk approximately 2 miles around TMS property together. Walk-a-Thon is a PTA sponsored event with all proceeds funding TMS programming, grants, and financial assistance for school events and other PTA initiatives to enhance the Middle School experience. Students are encouraged to collect pledges in support of the Walkathon. We are counting on our entire TMS community to be involved. Our goal is to raise $25,000 for student activities.
